A glass of water can reset your energy

Have you ever had a moment where you’ve felt super crappy and wished there was a fairy-godmother out there somewhere who could wave her magic wand and *poof* you’d feel better?

Yep, me too. When you are in the midst of a busy day running kids around here there and everywhere, when you’re looking after the home, when you’re working, when you’re trying to squeeze in some time to go to the gym or the hairdresser or even just trying to find a few spare minutes to pay those pesky bills that keep piling up, you often don’t have the time, the headspace or the means to dedicate a day or two to rejuvenate yourself.

Sometimes, it’s hard enough to find the time and the motivation to take an hour or two just to do whatever you want – even if that means doing nothing! And then there’s the guilt that kicks in whenever you do get that urge to do something just for yourself.

So what can you do, when you reach those dreaded moments of feeling completely spent? You’ve hit a wall, but it’s the middle of the day and you’ve got to keep going because you still have lots to do!

One thing you can do, is drink a glass of water.

Sound crazy? Hear me out…

The one thing I know I can rely on when I’m in the throes of “I can’t go on!” and when time won’t stop while I catch my breath, is my trusty glass of water. Sometimes I like the water to be cold, sometimes warm, sometimes it needs to be tepid – it really depends on how I’m feeling at the time. The temperature of the water may change, but there are two things that are always constant – my intention, and the healing vibration of the water.

Why water?

Water is one of the most readily-available and accessible beverages of the developed world. (On this, we should feel extremely thankful that we have this source of life-sustaining hydration available on tap 24/7 because so many countries and regions don’t. So the next time you use that precious water from your tap, please remember to be thankful and to use it as sparingly as you can because it is not an infinite source.)

When you need something to get you energetically back on track in a hurry, you may not have time to brew yourself a soothing cup of chamomile tea or to even blend yourself up a nutritious smoothie. You need something you can grab and drink with the least amount of prep time and that monetarily costs you next to nothing – which means there is zero guilt attached!

The Energy of Water

Everything that exists on this earth contains energy in some form or another – even things that are made by humans (synthetic, manufactured, etc). If that thing is made by nature, it possesses a powerful energy that can help you. The energy of water is no exception: it offers us clarity and sustenance (not just of life, but of spirit). Water Energy has the ability to move fluidly through your entire being, offering a fast and effective energetic boost.

Water Energy is very humble, with no reason to be showy or ‘in-your-face’. It works discreetly, but don’t let this fool you because it is also extremely effective – your body mind and soul can assimilate Water Energy almost faster than any other energy available to you.

Working with Water Energy

If you can keep this as uncomplicated as possible, you will benefit the most. Remember, Water Energy doesn’t like a big fuss!

Step 1

Choose your vessel (glass). Be as intuitive as you can! Even this first step is an important one – you have a favourite glass for a reason, so use it to your advantage.

Step 2

Fill your glass with drinking water of your desired temperature. I like to avoid water straight from the tap because, if you are living in suburbia like me and are on a public water system, your water has been treated with many chemicals and can even contain some nasties which are all very counterintuitive to what you are doing right now. So I would recommend filtering your water in some way, if you can. Or in a pinch, dispense some water out of your tap into a jug and leave it sitting on the bench (loosely covered with a cloth) for a few hours, as this will reduce the chlorine content in the water. You can also boil your water which will kill some viruses, bacteria and parasites that can be present in tap water.

Step 3

While holding your glass of water in both hands, close your eyes and imagine the Water Energy reaching out and connecting with your own energy. Keep it brief and to the point. Know and trust that you will receive what you need from the water – whether it be to boost, ground, re-set, balance or cleanse your energy.

Step 4

Drink that water, with gratitude and with certainty. You may like to drink it fast, or perhaps sip it slowly – be guided by your intuition here.

Voila!

It really is as simple as that! Be intentional, trust the process, trust yourself! Know that you have this very convenient and always-available tool at your disposal to help you get through those dips in your day. You can quickly and easily pull yourself together just by drinking a glass of water.

I do this all the time – especially after any energy / spiritual work, because it helps to ground me and bring me back into my body. But I also use it in my everyday life as well – whenever I need a quick fix to keep me going and get me through the day.

How else do you quickly and effectively sort yourself out energetically? Please share your tips with me in the comments below!

Jo turned to energy medicine and to living a more spiritual life when her chronic health issues prompted her to think outside the box. After many spiritual systems, practices and beliefs left Jo feeling flustered and inferior she began exploring how she could make spirituality fit into her everyday life and quickly realised that the only pre-requisite for living a spiritual life is the desire to do so, in a way that works for her. She is now helping others work out what being spiritual means to them, and how they can use it to change their lives.
